Zack and Jay are on the sea.
Black and green the sea be.
Everywhere be rain.
Dark rain, skunk rain.
Rain here and there and everywhere.
So, Zach and Jay may see if a snack be near.
A cake snack could and would be good here.
Snack and nap they will try.
May and the dog are in the car.
Everywhere be rain.
Dark rain, skunk rain far and near.
"Do let the car brake in the rain," say May.
"I am near Zack and Jay."
Let the skunk rain not trap them on the sea.
I, me, they, them, would not like that.
"Would you like me to brake the car here in the rain?" say May.
"Brake there," say Jay," or here."
May and dog brake the car and they, not Zack and Jay,
be trapped with the dark, skunk rain everywhere.
"Not good," say Zack.
"Not good," say Jay.
"Not good," say May.
Whew! I cannot believe how challenging it was to create a story with only fifty words! My admiration for Dr. Seuss and his memorable fifty-word story, Green Eggs and Ham, has reached idol status.
My admiration for my students, who undertook the same challenge, has rocketed skyward as well. They created some amazing stories and really showcased their creativity and grit, because an easy assignment this was not! There are always a few standouts with each blogging assignment, and this one proved no different. Check out the following student blogs to see some creative and memorable fifty-word tributes to the one and only Dr. Seuss:
Victorious
Fred
Nancy and Marjorie
Alyssa C.
Travis
This week students will once again undertake the 100 Word Challenge. Let's see if anyone can join Linda and be recognized in the showcase!
Happy blogging.
